I had never watched the Bachelor show. I heard about it but I was never interested in reality TV (I don't like watching TV that much and I never cared to buy one since I arrived at the USA) Lately, one of my clients was joking with me that I should go on the Bachelor show. (knowing that I am single) I told her, "Yeah right, wait till I'm unemployed, may be then I can spend 2 months on a reality show..."
Just what kind of people have the time to be on reality TV? Don't they have to work? Don't they have staff, clients, bosses, and constituents that their job duties are responsible for?? I hear that the Bachelor show never has much success in making marriages happen, and even if it does, how can anyone ever put down work for 2 months to go shoot that show? May be that's why I'm here in America, so I can work in place of those people who take off work to be on reality TV....
Anyway, after watching the first episode (I am slow because I don't have a TV and I don't have time to watch it first-hand), I realize that most of the girls on the show look so fake and desperate (not for finding a husband, but for having a future career in show business). The bachelor guy, Jake, despite my client's compliments of how good looking he is, is just not my cup of tea. I don't find him attractive, or will I ever be interested in a guy like him. He walks in a very wierd way, the way he swings from side to side when he walks... like a gorilla....is just odd looking to me. Besides, he doesn't look like a real guy trying to find a real wife...he looks like he is auditioning for a TV role of "Mr. Hottie", or looking for fun. Doesn't he have a career? Doesn't he have better things to do than being on reality TV, it just makes me wonder.
If I were a man, I seriously could't find any girl from the show (those who remain after episode #1) that I could be attracted to. They all look the same, with the same stupid prom make-up, fake tan, and they all wear the same cheesy quality prom dresses (probably made in China) that highschool girls wear to their proms. They all talk the same shallow and stupid way. Co-incidentally, most of them have similar jobs, "models or dancers, aspiring actresses or may be expiring actresses". Why are all girls on the show seem to have similar background, look and physique or even ethnicity??? There is one who caught my eyes to be somewhat normal though, but she is already eliminated, she is the captain of the national guard from DC, Elizabeth. She is the only one that I might be interested in if I were Jake... (now can you see why Jake will never be my type, he and I obviously have very different value and preference in terms of finding a life partner, or let's say, choosing people to befriend with)
I'm 5 feet 7 inches tall Asian female, 115 lbs, attractive, educated. I'm classified by the U.S. government as a "non-resident alien". I am stranded here in Los Angeles, the eligible bachelor desert. I'm sent here to build up the U.S. economy with my professional skills and education that my home country gave me. I will be here until my contracted duty is fulfilled, until I finish my job and pull out of the U.S. of A, I'm splitting my paycheck with Uncle Sam and supporting American citizens' grandparents with my social security contribution...(I am told only U.S. citizens can receive this when they are 62...but then, why am I required to contribute??? ) Yes, I'm single in this lonely planet called Los Angeles. By the way, have the eligible single bachelors gone extinct here just like the dinosaurs? Contact me if you spot any of them.
